A bold red grouse I met on a walk this morningJust a quick note to say happy Thanksgiving if you’re celebrating today! I’ve got so much to be thankful for, not least knitting and the community that surrounds it. So thanks to all of you who chose to spend a little of your day here. Sometimes I wonder if the knitting blog is a dying breed (there are so many other places to get knitting chat theee days) but I really value this space and all of you! If you’re in the United States (or anywhere else for that matter), I hope your day is full of good food, good company, and maybe a spot of knitting.
Quiet day here! Went on a nice walk this morning but since it’s a normal day here Mr N had to work and we’re going to visit some friends out of town tomorrow so no big dinner tonight. Are you doing thanksgiving at yours ?!
I know I miss so much by not being on IG as much. I know my writing has fallen to the wayside this year except for my monthly sock post; however I hope the new year brings more time to craft and write about it 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to your little family. May the coming year be blessed!
Thank you Paula and I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving! It’s easy for the writing to fall away — I do enjoy it though! It just — as you know — takes time to do it properly!
I read the blog on a feed reader that lets me use…night vision isn’t the right phrase, but the white text on black background so I can read while I’m nursing and putting babies down. I am immeasurable grateful for you and other bloggers who keep connecting us to the tribe when our hands are too full of wool and babies to comment. Have a wonderful weekend!
Oh Kathryn thanks for sharing this little glimpse! I’m glad you’ve found a way to read that slots so nicely into daily life! Hope your week is off to a good start!
I should take the knitting with me. That’s for the reminder. And Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, Katherine. What are you doing today?
Yeah, I agree about the blog thing. Many are on IG now or maybe podcast.

Going to my paternal grandmother’s. Bringing Oprah’s cheddar cheese and chive mashed potatoes and crispy bacon bits + Martha Stewart’s Icebox pumpkin mousse pie.

Oh I hope that knitting blogs aren’t a thing of the past. I enjoy reading them. I am not an Instagram person.

I do too! Sometimes I just feel like maybe most of it has moved to other formats — but as long as some of us keep writing, right?
