Friday Favorites

Hi friends, and happy Friday!

Have another set of fiber-y favorites for you today (I promise I’ll get back to including more sustenance soon).  The format today is a little different because, guys, I have a confession to make.

This blog has been yarn purchase-free for 26 1 day.

I’d been doing really well since the start of the new year.  Sure, I’d bought one or two Zauberball for helical mitts and a special skein of sock yarn when I was in LA.

Then, earlier this month, I slipped a bit and bought some gorgeous BFL from Sherwood Yarns for my Southwell Cardigan (which is officially cast on! more on that soon!)  But that was a celerbatory purchase, because I had gotten some good news at work.

But this purchase — there was really no excuse.  Olive Knits released this new short sleeve sweater this week:

And The Farmers Daughter opened up preorders for kits for the yarn.  And I just could. not. resist.  Despite the fact that, as previously discussed, I have plenty of spring/summer tops I want to knit.  And despite the fact that I’m trying to reduce these sorts of impulse yarn buys. But the silhouette of this top … and that tan with that mint …. I was lost!

So, obviously, Apogean by Marie Greene is at the top of my Friday Favorites this week! But here’s some more woolly goodness to welcome the weekend with:

What’s caught your eye this week? Hope your weekend is shaping up to be a good one! I better take some time to sit and think about what I’ve done … if I start feeling toooo guilty about my yarn purchases, I’ll just think about what Ryan would say:

On that note — happy Friday!

  1. The Cowgirl Cowl by Pam Powers caught my eye recently on Pinterest because of the cute detailing of a bead and a tassel at the v-point. I have the book and it’s project page doesn’t really show that, mostly without it. I that was such a cute detail.

  2. I don’t blame you for falling down that rabbit hole – that spring sweater is lovely. I really want to knit lighter stuff too now. I have lots of cotton and linen in my stash – just need to put it together with some patterns.
