Yarnalong: Mawson and all the Thanksgiving recipes

My mom’s magical recipe binder and Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, Colorway: Newsprint.

Knitting: Mawson, by Jared Flood.  My mom and I both cast on for this hat last night, though I got too sleepy to finish!  Hopefully we’ll squeeze in a few rows between Thanksgiving prep!  We got this yarn at Loop, and I didn’t realize until last night that to make the slouchier version of the hat, you need a bit more than one skein.  So I’ll have to visit the shop once I’m back in Philadelphia (aw, shucks, a visit to a LYS!) to get another skein, which we’ll split between the two of us.

Reading: Allll the Thanksgivng recipes.  We’re doing some of our family favorites and trying out some new dishes this year.  I’ll try to snap some pictures as we go — we’ll see.  I’m also still enjoying snippets of Persuasion before bedtime.

You can head over to the original Yarnalong to see what everyone else is up to this week.  And as always, I love to hear what you’re reading and/or knitting on in the comments.

If you’re in the US, hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I’m thankful for all of you who stop by and share a bit of your day with me!  Hugs, Katherine

  1. Oh I love Persuasion! It’s my favorite of Austen’s, if I can bring myself to have a favorite. Lovely yarn, it looks very similar to a yarn I used a couple months ago to make my husband a hat that he loves! Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. I’m taking a break from getting ready for my in-laws to come stay (7-9 more people!) and catching up on blogs – I always enjoy reading what you’re up to. I’m hoping to get some knitting in this afternoon. Happy Thanksgiving!
