Hello there!
How was your weekend (I know it’s Tuesday, but we can still talk about the weekend, right?)
There was a lot of excitement around these parts … Mr. N came for his first visit since I moved to Philadelphia, and it was his birthday! We had a lovely four day weekend … mostly unphotographed! But I thought I’d share a few highlights.
Mr. N arrived early Friday morning, so after breakfast I introduced him to my new neighborhood. The nearby park, my favorite place to buy groceries, a board game shop … the important stuff. We couldn’t have asked for a prettier day.
Friday evening we went for dinner in Chinatown, then to “Terror Behind the Walls,” a haunted house at Philadelphia’s Eastern State Penititeniary — it was, indeed, terrifying!
Saturday was the birthday proper, complete with birthday scones for breakfast (recipe: here), a trip to an arcade, and dinner at local brewery.
And Sunday we tried out a game we picked up at the board game shop Friday: Patchwork! It combines two of my loves — crafting and board games — into one very fun, two-player game:
At the end of a whirlwind weekend, we settled in last night for a viewing of A Walk in the Woods … and there was knitting, of course! My only complaint is that it all was over too soon. We woke today to a morning so cold I had to turn on the heat (!), and Mr. N was off by 8 a.m. My apartment felt very quiet when I got home from work today … but luckily, we have another visit planned soon!
Hope your week is off to a great start. Thanks, as always, for stopping by!
Sounds like a wonderful weekend!! Your scones look YUMMY by the way! 🙂

That really did sound like a lovely weekend 😀 I spent Saturday working because of a misunderstood deadline, then chilled out on Sunday. No knitting; however I did sign up for a Portuguese Knitting Class from Craftsy to see if that would help me!

Boo to Saturday working, but good to have a day of relaxing afterward! You’ll have to report back on the Craftsy class — I’ve never heard of Portuguese knitting and just googled it — it looks intriguing!!!
